2013 U.S. F-Class Open Development Team Tryouts

We are now recruiting individuals interested in trying out for the 2013 Team. Shooters, coaches, and adjutant.

In order to qualify for the 2013 Team shooters must meet any one of these criteria:

1. Have placed in the top three of an NRA Long Range registered state or regional championship.
2. Placed in the top 20 of an F-Class National Championship (Open or T/R)
3. Been a member of any previous U.S. F-Class or Palma Team.

There will be a 2013 U.S. F-Open Development Team comprised of those shooters capable of shooting an average vertical score of 98 out of 100 (see graphic below for explanation of vertical). This will be based upon the vertical component scores shot only during team approved and managed practices. Each participant will be asked to attend at least three shooting venues (maximum four) and fire at least 60 shots for record before Fall of 2011. Vertical scores will be collected for strings of 20 shots. In order to account for any potential equipment failures, sickness, or other anomalies, we will drop the lowest string provided that a minimum of 60 record shots are accounted for. In other words, an individual who wishes to drop a string to raise their average, will need to shoot at four tryout venues. Tryouts for 2010 are complete and there are four venues remaining for 2011.

The 2013 U.S. F-Open World Championship Team will draw from the Development Team. Selection of 2013 U.S. F-Open Team members will proceed after the Development Team is formed. Regardless of where the shot lands for windage, the points for each shot will be scored where it falls vertically on the target within the lines. The goal is for the shooter to be able to keep verticals within the 10 lines for elevation.
